Cilia / Cilium / Ciliated : A microscopic hairlike process ex.tending from a cell or unicellular organism and capable of rhythmical motion. Ciliated means having cilia.

Dorsal fin: the fin directly on the top of the body (it's the fin that sticks out of the water when you see a shark). Some fish have two dorsal fins one directly behind the other.
Wet/dry filter: this is a form of biological filtration which has media ex.posed to the air to aid in nitrification. Common forms are trickle filters and rotating "paddle wheel" filters.
Down-flow systems – filters in which water enters the top and flows down through media and then ex.its at the bottom of the system
