Resolved Question: Help -Tropical fish?
I currently own 1 male guppy and 2 females
they live in a 15 gallon (60 litre) aquarium all to themselves.
In my aquarium there is:
Pump
Filter
Installed light
Heater
Fine gravel
2 real plants
2 fake plants
2 ornaments
The tank is kept at 78 degrees.
All was well until about a day-a-go, one of my females stopped swimming, she is still swimming up-right... But her tail is almost hanging down, she is ver skinny. I thought she was pregnant. She stays away from the others. I dont think she is eating that much and stays in corners.
Is there anything that I can do to make her eel better and if the others are ill, them too. The others seem healthy...
I know for sure that my other female is pregnant. She is biggerm black gravid spot about 4mm.
What is the problem?
More information I just found out. My other female who is healthy is attacking her. Why? and why is she not defending her self?
Whats wrong?
I have no-other tank to put them in...
I also have a female. She has been with a male for 16 days now, she has got bigger and her gravid spot is about 4mm big, but it is jet black.
Will she have her babies soon?

Resolved Question: What's wrong with my fish?
I just set up a 55 gallon aquarium, I bought 2 males and 3 female guppies. The three females were a "rescue" cause at my LFS that didn't take good care of his tropical aquariums. I figured at least one of them might die but I was giving her a chance. I've been putting Melafix in the tank to help prevent any disease spread. These were all in a tank together at the LFS and are the only fish in my 55 at the moment. The females are all skinny, only one is eatting. One just hangs at the top of the water and doesn't do much and the other sort of does the same just not as often and her gills have turned red. There is no ammonia in the water. . I'm worried about parasites. I'm not adding any more fish until I figure out what is wrong. My males are fine.
And before I'm criticized, I'm aware I took a risk with buying sickly fish, I just want to know how to fix them.
Resolved Question: African dwarf frog problem?
I have a 29 gallon with 3 ADF's, 4 corydoras and 9 guppies. I've had the three ADF's since July of 2007 and they've always been in good condition, plump and happy looking. I had some glass fish that I bought the same summer as them, but they have all died. The frogs never had a problem getting food when I had the glass fish and the corys.Â
Now that I replaced the glass fish with guppies I have noticed the frogs are getting skinnier and they don't seem as happy in the tank. They seem stressed out, especially at feeding time, because they're not getting their fair share of food. The guppies are soo greedy! I put tropical flakes, a litle bit of bloodworms and between 3 and 5 shrimp pellets when I feed in the morning and at night. It doesn't seem like the frogs are getting anything. The guppies eat the flakes and worms and the corys eat the pellets.
My question is what or how can I feed the ADF's so I can make sure they're getting enough food?Â
They're the original ones I started this tank with and I really want them to be as happy and healthy as possible. I've tried dropping the worms right in front of them when they're at the top trying to eat, but the damn guppies swoop in and take them before the frogs have a chance.
Thank you for any advice in advance.
Resolved Question: what can i feeed my male convict cichlid and why he is losing his color?
my 2.5" male convict won't eat the small cichlid pellets, and he can barely eat the goldfish pellets which are half the size of the cichlid pellets, he is only eating tropical fish flakes, and some cucumber that i feed my pleco. When i brought him from petsmart he was gray/blue color with very tinted black stripes, now all his stripes are losing their black and looks grayish, he also killed my big firemouth that i brought one day from petsmart and one Small albino tiger barb because he looked like he hadn't eat for weeks(he looked very, very skinny and had trouble swimming, now i only have 3 barbs.)
What other fish can go with him that he wont kill, the only choices i heard was fast moving fish such as barbs, or other type of big aggressive cichlid like the firemouth but he died, either because he was sick or the shock.
is a 29 gallon tank with very few decor
