Resolved Question: ignore the bad reveiws my baby biorbs been fine !?
i have a baby biorb have done now since around may this year i started off a little unsure to what to put inside so i started with minnows i got about 5 of them ... be aware that because they are so small they will go for a swim down your bubble tube ... and get stuck ! so i given them to a friend thinkin they wernt suitable ! so then i thought my only option was goldfish so i ended up geting 4 ! and beleive it or not they where fine ! their health anyway but then i decided to give them to my local petshop because i felt cruel keeping them in such a small tank as 1 of them was big ! an also they do have too much waste to keep up with ! if only i would of known that biorb now has a bubble tube guard only about £1.50 to buy an this is the solution to having small fish you will need 1 ! i dont see why you couldnt have got 1 included when buying the tank :S its only a small basic piece of plastic that covers the top of the bubble tube an alows the bubble to come out still ! anyway iv ended up getting some advice and now have danios which are a great option for a cold water tank ... they are cold or tropical water fish as they can adjust to any temperate really (hardy fish) and they come in different patterns .. i have a zebra danio, a leopare danio, and 2 pearl danios and also 2 very small 1s dont actually no their names but they are danios and they have a bright orange line in them so are nice and bright to look at they look at bright as neon tetras but you dont need the heater ! i do personally prefer tropical fish but i dont see the point getting a heater when the baby biorb is so small ! i also have 2 small catfish ... again they can also adjust to cold water from tropical im also geting 2 plattys iv been told these can also adjust to cold water and they are very nice and colourful so iv got 8 little fish at d min and im getting another two and then im done but i have heard people say that no fish seem to last in their biorbs and that they dont reckon you should have so many in the bowl but mine doesnt look crowded at all and my fish are fine .. look more than happy ... plenty of room as well start by getting 2 small week and add another 2 each week and with look liker myself you should do fine ignore the bad reveiws they mustnt have looked after theirs properly !
well to be honest ive hand these catfish and dannios for 2 weeks now and there fine and i dont do all tha scientific stuff i just wanted a nice tank with nice fish suitable for my tank and now i have that so i think i can judge wether they're suitable or not il let yano ow i geton with them but i have had advice from a man who has been in buisness for around 20 years so i listened to him and he has obviosly given me good info so i am passin it on an if people wanna give it a go then why not ??
Resolved Question: Goldfish question #2?
Hey guys so i just got some new goldfish (pearlscale) yestersday. They started gasping for air so i had to let them in he tank....right now im letting them get used to it....their still in their fishy bag and im kinda worried cuz their COLDWATER fish right? And i have only let my tank cycle for about 15-17 hours and it has a HEATER! Its not too high.....its 78 degrees F.....but it is still heating up the water(slightly)...theirs not much of a difference in the temperarure of the fishes water and the water in the tank....and my house is pretty cold cuz of the tile.....and wer in october so its pretty cold too...but im still worried.....Will they adapt...will it get too hot? And if they adapt will they be happy...
I care most about their health and happiness.....i got a heater cuz im planning on getting new tropical fish in the weekend....
BTW: i heard PEARLSCALE goldfish are not supposed to be in water thats too cold.....
EDIT: well actually they used to be in their bag thats why they were gasping for air.....
hey thanks to all of you! my fish turned out fine! im still not ure what to do but i will figure it out later...so i didnt know who to pick so i just took a random shot butg all of u were verry helpfull and thank you!

Resolved Question: Oscar fish question......petland?
OK so this pet store had a Oscar in a 10 gal tank and i wrote a letter of complaint and they set this to me
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The Oscar in question was placed in the smaller tank intentionally for medical treatment. Further, we nursed him back to health and sold him about 2 weeks ago. Please get your facts correct.
Nobody cares more about the health and happiness of animals than Petland, period!
If you have cares or concerns about how we handle our pets, please talk to someone directly. We would be happy to talk about any ways we can improve.
Thanks,"
~~~~~~~~~~
dose that sound right i mean that they put him in there for medical reasons and and they care about the Oscars health
and dose this sound right
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From all the research I have done the fish would have got worse not better. The small tank would have made him more able to get to hole in the head ( a disease of tropical fish which starts with smalls sore on the head above the eyes. These sore grow and eventually penetrate through the outer layer of skin. It is caused by poor water quality over a long period of time). Putting the Oscar in more pain Rather if it had ick.
In fact what did the fish have?????????? What did you treat him with?
And go look in the tanks, from what I see you real don’t care about the fish’s care
sorry about spelling
no they had 4 goldfish in about a 80 gal
that fish was there for about 2-3 months in the same small tank. how is that right when they have smaller fish in HUG tank?
Resolved Question: One of my tropical fish got stuck in the filter, we saved it, but its ill.....HELP!!!!!!!!!PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
right.....someone gave us their old fishtank full of tropical fish because they were too elderly to care for them anymore. However from the moment we got the tank, it was very old and grimy...so instead of trying to clean it and fix it. We have bought a new fish tank.....but theres a problem, we were told to wait 1 week until we put the fish in, so we did, and today we put the fish in. However when we were cleaning out the old tank, another fish fell out of the filter and into the gutter. At 1st we assumed it was dead, until it started to flap about....i couldn't get my hand into the gutter beacuse my hand was too large. However my brother did mange to get into the gutter and pull put the fish......we got it out and put it staright into fliltered water, gave it some food then put it in the main tank...at 1st it was swimming upside down, now its stuk its head in a plant with little movement........what can i do to put the fish back in good health???????? PLEASE HELP ME!!
Resolved Question: How to care for a black moor goldfish?
Hi, I just decided to clean up my small fish tank and get a fish to live along with the frog in the tank. I had neons in the tank before because its a small tank (like one of those heux tanks that you can sit on a dresser or something). But the store I was at didn't have a good selection of freshwater fish.. I saw the black moor and thought that would be a nice fish to have. Since I plan on getting a muuuuch bigger tank soon. I saw how big they can get and I'd like to have a fish that will stick around for awhile. Anyway, I have in the small thing now for a few weeks cause hes still a baby. But will he be okay with the water frog? They seem to be doing fine? The frogs alittle scared right now. Also, are there any certain things I should do for the black moor like his environment, diet and any health probs they usually get? I'd appreciate any tips. I also saw he can live in a tropical setting too, which is best for them?
Resolved Question: tropical fish food for coldwater fish?
i brought a new tank today and it came with some tropical fish food (aqua one tropical flakes) i was wondering weather it would affect my fishes health, it also says it enhances the color of the fish, if it is safe for cold water fish to eat will it accually affect the colour of them?
